Default flags

What the playground opens with. Tasks and lessons set their own — a task that asked for g and then let you turn it off would be grading a different question from the one it asked.

Step budget in the playgroundA pattern that passes this is stopped and reported as over budget rather than left to run. Raising it is a real choice: a browser tab that stops responding is not a lesson about backtracking.Show flavour notesWhere PCRE, Python or Go would do something different from the ECMAScript flavour this engine implements. A pattern that works here and not there is worth knowing about before you paste it.Record a personal best on a taskOff makes an attempt unrecorded. Practising without a score on it is a legitimate thing to want, and this is what says so.

Off

Off. Everything stays in this browser. Turn this on and Regex keeps a copy on a storage server you run, so a second machine sees the same history. There is still no account — the API key is the only identity, and losing it loses the copy.

EndpointThe address of your storage server, e.g. https://storage.example.comAPI key

Generated by your server. Stored in this browser only.

Each gym is a separate site, so this setting only covers Regex. The other gyms take the same endpoint and the same key.

Run your own server The wire protocol is written down — small enough that writing one is an afternoon, and the page doubles as a prompt you can hand to a coding agent.liter8.sh/remote-storage
